Joseph Paul Johann Flach

Joseph Flach, the only son of Jacob Flach and Elizabeth Brandt, was born in 1857. His mother died in 1860 and Jacob married Theresa Zahn, who bore him a further 9 children.

In 1880 Joseph came to England and in 1882 started the firm later to be known as Joseph Flach and Sons Ltd. In 1885 he married Eva Morhart and started the English Flach clan.

Between 1886 and 1907 they had 8 children. They lived in North London at 47 Bethune Road and 228 Lordship Road and the family and firm flourished.

Joseph died in 1908 and James took over the running of the firm and the responsibility for his brothers and sisters until they were able to fend for themselves. Gabriel and Paul joined him in the firm and later Gabriel's sons.
